🎉 A Family Adventure to Remember: Celebrating an 18th Birthday with Buggy Iceland

In July 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful family to Buggy Iceland for a very special occasion: celebrating their daughter’s 18th birthday. They joined us on our two-hour buggy tour — five in total, two parents, the birthday girl, plus her 14- and 12-year-old siblings.

From the moment they arrived at our base in Lambhagi, the adventure began. Our team greeted them with smiles, provided a full safety briefing, and helped them gear up with warm overalls, gloves, and helmets. Once ready, we reviewed the route: through the rugged trails of Hólmsheiði and up into the Hengill area, following scenic paths beneath the power lines.

Once behind the wheel, the family quickly discovered how easy the buggies are to drive. Despite rough patches on the trail, the vehicles handled the terrain effortlessly — making it possible to enjoy the thrill of the ride without worry. The guide’s instructions and the reliability of the machines ensured that everyone felt confident and had fun right away.

The scenery along the route only made the day more memorable. Rolling through moss-covered lava fields, crossing rivers and lakes, and approaching the mountain peaks of Hengill, the family experienced the raw beauty of Iceland from a unique perspective. Even though the clouds hid the view from the very top, the landscapes left a lasting impression.

Most importantly, the birthday girl herself couldn’t stop smiling. Her excitement was contagious, and by the end of the tour, the whole family agreed it was the perfect way to celebrate such a milestone.
